Green business is good business.  The Sonoma Economic Development Partnership has three programs to support, assist, and recognize businesses in their efforts to protect the environment.  For more information on any of these programs, or about bringing your green business to Sonoma Valley, contact Laurie Decker, Economic Development Project Manager, at 707-327-7338 or
LaurieADecker@comcast.net.

If you are looking for ways to "green" your business, check out our new Green Business Network, an online community where you can ask a question, find resources, or get ideas from other local businesses.  The Green Business Network is also a great place for businesses to promote the green products and services they provide.  Look for the "Green B2B Resource Directory" and post your information!

The Sonoma Valley Green Business Recognition program showcases the environmental efforts of your business and encourages green business practices throughout the community.  This recognition program was developed in cooperation with the Sonoma Ecology Center and Sonoma County's Business Environmental Alliance.  To participate, you must be a Sonoma Valley business demonstrating green business practices in each of several major areas.  Your business may also be recognized for a specific project or initiative that can be used as a model for other organizations.  Recently recognized businesses include Arroyo Veterinary Hospital, Baksheesh, Barking Dog Roasters, Benziger Family Winery, BOLT Staffing Services, El Pueblo Inn, The Epicurean Connection, Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn, Friedman's Home Improvement, Haus Inc., Infineon Raceway, MacArthur Place Inn and Spa, Social Advocates for Youth, Sonoma Hills Retirement Center, Sonoma Market, Sonoma Index-Tribune, Sonoma Valley Bank, Sonoma Valley Film Society, Sonoma Valley Inn, Thomas Anderson & Co., Vella Cheese, Vintage House, Whole Foods Market, and the Wine Country Film Society

The Green Hospitality program supports the Sonoma Valley lodging industry in its efforts to become environmentally friendly.  Linen exchange cards sponsored by the Economic Development Partnership are available free to Sonoma Valley inns, small hotels, and B&B's.  These laminated cards encourage guests to conserve water by opting not to have towels and sheets changed on a daily basis.  The hospitality program also provides outreach to lodging businesses with information about various energy and water conservation incentives and model programs.
